-------- Mark Leonardo Giovanni-----------Born in Seattle, WashingtonEducated at Seatle UniversityGraduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in1985, where he also studied art history and music composition.Mark studied abroad on a 19 country tour of art and architecture in Europe in 1977 & again in 2001Mark has been an architectural designer for over 25 years .He has owned and operated his own design/build firm and is currently working on plans for a new church chapel prayer and healing center in the foothills of the Rockies. Mark is a composer singer/songwriter. When you meet sculptor Mark L. Giovanni it will be easy to understand. Mark is rarely without his sketch pad on which most of his designs begin. He composes music on his piano and synthsizer as he works out the specific details of his design moving then to his mig welder and plasma cutter to bring his modern and innovative sculptures and designs to life.Mark's first creative flurry was focused on designing and building contemporary homes featuring cutting dege interior and exterior designs. Intergrating sculptural hardware and large sculptures to complmenmt his designs eventually led him to sculpture and art full time. The diversity and depth of Mark's talent is evident in the sheer variety of his work. He uses an array of mediums inclluding stainless steel, mild steel, copper, exotic woods, stone, colorful and textured poly-eco resins and LED lighting to create his contemporary sculptures that dance and move with flowing forms. Giovanni has the distinct ability to meld all of these things together to create beautiful and lasting sculpture. The variety of his work may confuse some but to Mark everything is art or has the potential to be a form of art. He has designed and fabricated architectural elements such as sconces and front entry gates,entire vignettes of furniture, and has created fine art sculptures including monumental water sculptures. In all forms, Mark's signature curving and flowing lines, spheres, ellipses and circles show the Giovanni fingerprint.

1. Are you an Architect? The definition of an Architect is:A person who designs buildings and often supervises their construction, or a person who designs and guides a plan or undertaking.Based on dictionary definitions ,Yes , I am indeed an Architect. Are you stamped and licensed in Colorado? In the State of Colorado I am limited as to what all I can design by state law. It is legal for me to design single family dwellings and dwelling units of no more than 4 units. I also am able to design storage units, farm buildings, garages, warehouses and offices not more than one story in height or with no more than 10 occupants.I have been designing buildings for over 25 years now and have owned and managed my own design/building firm in Washinton State.I have designed homes in California and Arizona as well.Every design receives a structural stamp from a licensed structural enginneer.2. What's the advantage of hiring you over an architect?I see everything as art. If you are looking for a standard home or building design then I am not the right person to hire. I consider the design, a large scale sculpture and artwork that represents my clients lifestyle, personality, passion and very soul of who they are or want to be.I never design two buildings the same .If you want a out of the box architect then I am the perfect choice for you.3. Is there an architect or artist who inspires you? The work of spanish architect Santiago Calatrava is truely amazing. He is an Architect /Enginneer and Sculptor, so his designs are cutting edge in engineering terms and very beautiful in sculptural artistic form. His sketches/drawings studies of the human body and nature inspires most of his designs.Frank Llyod Wright was also my early inspiration.I am inspired by a lot of artist, past and present. To name a few : Marc Chagall,Henry Matiesse, Pablo Picasso, Paul Guigan,Botecelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo Di Vinci, Peter Paul Rubens, Raphael , Le Corbuiser I.M. Pei, Frank Gehry and the list goes on , 4. What are your Architectural and or Artistic /Sculptural aspirations both short term and long term?To help each and every client improve the quality of their life thru good design. If awards and world wide recognition comes my way I guess I'll just have to smile and accept it, and thank my lucky star. 5. What meduims do you work in?I work in a variety of meduims and with combinations of all of them. Stainless Steel ,mild steel, copper, exotic hardwoods woods, plywoods and veneers, Stone,marble,poly-eco resins, and lighting.6. Who is your main client or what group of professionals do you work with?I do not have a set type of client and I am always amazed how everyone reacts to good design, if the base design is good, ie the layout of the spaces are right then any indivudual decorating style can be added easily.7. What projects do you have on the boards ?Right now I am working on and just about finished with a complete set of drawings for the Chapel of the Holy Spirit & Resurrection of Life, a spiritual renewal and prayer center, planned for somewhere in the foothills of the Rockies. We are currently looking for the specific site location and funding for the project. It will truely be the only, one of it's kind in the world, and it is our hope and wish that it will be a place to change lives and truely fill peoples heart with the love of Christ.
